Mr. Horvat, how did you come to work for Mazars?
At the moment I am in the final spurt of my masters degree at the University of Economics and Business in Vienna, specialising in accounting, tax law and supply chain management. That's why I wanted to find a full-time job and applied to Mazars. I was especially happy at the start when I learned that one of the international onboarding training courses was about to take place. My colleagues said that these would be very helpful. Of course, that's a great start in the company. Furthermore, the training is also expected to take place in Mallorca - another reason to be happy (smiles).
What is your area of work on a daily basis?
So far I have been preparing planning documents, preparing checklists or situation reports and coordinating balance sheets. In a few days I will do my first inventory and soon I will be establishing more contact with clients. I'm looking forward to that, because I enjoy talking to people.
What do you think distinguishes Mazars as an employer?
In particular, the friendly colleagues and the flexible working hours. As a father of three kids, the second point is essential for me. Also, the flat hierarchies: All the departments work together and appreciate each other. Colleagues are very team-oriented and helpful. As there is a substantial gulf between theory and practice in our domain, a lot of questions still crop up in everyday work. But I'm not afraid to talk to my colleagues, after all everyone remembers the start of their career.
Which three adjectives best describe Mazars?
Diverse, dynamic and forward-looking.
